August 2005- Hurricane Katrina Came thru
Massive Devastation for the Coast, but the people
in Vancleave Pulled together and the help from around the country
was much appreciated.  Vancleave was "luckier" than many coast cities
and had a tent city at the Vancleave Horse Arena.

October 2005-
TRICK OR TREAT UNDER THE OAKS

Hosted their 3rd Annual Halloween under the oaks
with a fantastic turn out!

 

November 2005-

The Annual Vancleave Fall Festival took place, with the little Muchkins costume contest, a massive cake auction and live entertainment from the Bluff Creek Singers. The new Community Gazebo built by the VMA was introduced to the Community.
Perfect weather and great community fun.

December 2005-

The VMA has decorated the New Community Gazebo with Christmas lights, and hosted the First Annual Vancleave Community Christmas Festival  December 17th, it was moved into the High School due to rain. Performances by the VMS band  directed by Mr.  Emond.  10 Christmas Essay winners were announced and read them on stage. Door Prizes, Free Hot Chocolate, Cookies, and Coffee. Santa Visits and free photos for all. A wonderful Dance performance from the international award winning, "Show Stoppers" from Kelli's Steps School of Dance (www.kellisstepsschoolofdance.com ), and a delightful performance by Zocchi the Magician. A host of  teenage elves help the little ones make Christmas ornaments and color sheets. With the turn out estimated between 125-175 community members, The VMA looks forward to this being an ongoing Annual event that will continue to grow.
